Mavericks Lose In Overtime

The Dallas Mavericks lost to the Golden State Warriors 105-101 Monday night at the American Airlines Center.

With the loss to Golden State, the Mavericks are now 0-2 in overtime games this season. Dallas fell to Charlotte 101-97 in overtime on 11/10/12. Dallas drops to 6-6 (.500) on the year. It marks the third time this season that Dallas has held a .500 record. The Mavericks have never had a record below .500 at any point this season however.

After managing only four points in the first half, Mavericks guard O.J. Mayo scored 23 points in the second half and overtime and finished with a team-high 27 points on the night. He added five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 41 minutes. Mayo has now scored 18-plus points in each of his last 10 games (and is averaging 23.7 ppg in that span).

Mavericks center Chris Kaman recorded his first double-double of the season (164th career) with 18 points, a season-high 17 rebounds and two blocks in 35 minutes. His previous high rebounding total this season was 10 at Indiana (11/16/12). Kaman is averaging 16.0 points per game, 10.8 rebounds per game and 2.5 blocks per game over his last four games.

Mavericks forward Troy Murphy tallied a season-high 12 points to go along with four rebounds and two blocks in 24 minutes (his previous high was 10 points at Washington 11/14/12). Murphy has now scored nine-plus points three times in his last four games.

Mavericks forward Shawn Marion hit his 700th career 3-pointer at the 8:23 mark of the fourth quarter.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry tallied a game-high 31 points to go along with a game-high nine assists, six rebounds and two steals in 43 minutes.

The Mavericks’ next game is vs. New York on Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
