The Dallas Mavericks needed a team effort to defeat the Utah Jazz 116-101 Friday night at the American Airlines Center. Playing their 4th straight game without Dirk Nowitzki, the Mavericks had 6 players scoring in double figures. The feat is even more impressive considering Jason Kidd left the game barely 2 minutes into the contest with a strained calf.
Rodrigue Beaubois led the Mavericks with a season-high 22 points. Lamar Odem stepped up to add 19, also a season-high. Jason Terry came off the bench to score 18.
Shawn Marion scored 16, Vince Carter and Brenden Haywood each added 12. Haywood posted his 1st double-double of the season by adding 12 rebounds.
The Mavs used the long ball, hitting 11 from 3-point range, a season-high. Odem was 3 of 4 from long range.
Dallas stays home to host the Spurs on Sunday.
