Mavs Beat Knicks 114-111

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the New York Knicks 114-111 Wednesday night at the American Airlines Center.

O.J. Mayo finished with a game-high 27 points (10-17 FGs, 3-7 3FGs, 4-5 FTs) in 36 minutes against the Knicks. He has now scored 18-plus points in each of his last 11 games (and is averaging 24.0 ppg in that span). Mayo has led Dallas in scoring in 10 of those 11 contests. He recorded his eighth 20-point effort of the season against the Knicks. Mayo had six 20-point outings in 66 games with Memphis last season.

Mavericks swingman Vince Carter appeared in his 999th career regular-season game against New York on Wednesday and tallied a season-high 25 points (9-17 FGs, 5-10 3FGs, 2-3 FTs) in 23 minutes off the bench.

Mavericks point guard Darren Collison went 7-for-11 from the field and tallied 19 points and a team-high seven assists in 34 minutes against the Knicks. Forward Jae Crowder recorded 12 points and four rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench against New York. He matched his season high for points and rebounds.

Mavericks forward Troy Murphy made his first start of the season (482nd career) and managed two points and five rebounds in 18 minutes before leaving the game in the second quarter with an upper respiratory illness. Dirk Nowitzki (right knee surgery) was inactive for Dallas.

Former Maverick Jason Kidd recorded a season-high 17 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and five steals in 36 minutes.

Former Maverick Tyson Chandler posted his second double-double of the season with a season-high 21 points (8-9 FGs, 5-7 FTs) and 13 rebounds in 39 minutes.

The Mavericks’ next game is vs. the L.A. Lakers on Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
