The Dallas Mavericks won their 4th game in the last 5 outings with a 111-105 win in Orlando over the Magic.

Shawn Marion led Dallas with 20 points, one of 7 Mavericks with double-digits in scoring.  Marion was the only Dallas player with a double-double, grabbing 10 rebounds.

O.J. Mayo scored 15 points, along with Vince Carter.  Elton Brand came off the bench to add 14.  Brand and Carter combined for 29 of the 40 points from the Dallas reserves that outscored Orlando’s bench 40-28.

Darren Collison just missed a double-double with 11 points and 9 rebounds.

Dirk Nowitzki continues to get back in rythm, scoring 12 points in 31 minutes of play.

At 18-24, the Mavericks have pulled to within 3 games of a playoff spot.  Their recent resurgence has Dallas playing with a new confidence and sense of urgency.  “Winning cures a lot. We had a bad atmosphere there for a while when we were losing. The coaches were on the edge and the players were, but when you win it is a lot more fun,” said Nowitzki. “We had a big week and I think we are only three games out of the eighth spot.”

Dallas is off until Friday, when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
