Mavs Crush Pistons 100-86

The Dallas Mavericks won their first road game of the year with a 100-86 blowout in Detroit.

Dirk Nowitzki tallied a team-high 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting and added a team-high seven rebounds in 28 minutes. Nowitzki needs just 19 points for 23,000.  Delonte West dished out a game-high 10 assists to go along with six points and a game-high five steals. Shawn Marion (14), Vince Carter (11) and Ian Mahinmi (10) also scored in double figures for Dallas in the win.

The Mavericks began the game on a 19-4 run and never trailed at any point.  Dallas outshot Detroit 55.1 percent (38-of-69) to 43.5 percent (30-of-69) for the game.  The Pistons committed 21 turnovers (for 29 Dallas points), while the Mavericks turned it over only 14 times (for 10 Detroit points).

Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd missed his second straight game with a lower back injury.

The Mavericks have evened their record to 5-5 and will play tonight in Boston.
