Mavs Defeat Knicks

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the New York Knicks 95-85 Tuesday night at the American Airlines Center.

Dirk Nowitzki scored a game-high 28 points (8-18 FGs, 12-12 FTs) for Dallas in the win. After he shot just 1-of-8 from the floor in the first half, he went 7-of-10 from the field in the second half and scored 24 of his 28 points after intermission. Jason Kidd recorded a season-high 15 points (4-10 FGs, 4-8 3FGs, 1-1 FTs) to go along with four rebounds, six assists and one steal in 32 minutes. His previous high scoring game was 13 against Denver on 2/15/12. Rodrigue Beaubois led Dallas in scoring in the first half with 12 points in 13 minutes. He finished with 18 points (6-11 FGs, 2-6 3FGs, 4-6 FTs) in 20 minutes. It marked his 12th double-figure scoring game of the season and his fifth in his last seven games.

The Mavericks have held 18 of their last 19 opponents to under 100 points. The Knicks were the only team to score 100 against Dallas in the span (in the previous meeting in New York on 2/19/12, defeated Dallas 104-97).

Lamar Odem was only 1 of 9 for Dallas.  

The Mavericks held Jeremy Lin to just 14 points.  

Dallas plays in Phoenix on Thursday.
