Mavs Dominate Kings

The Dallas Mavericks dominated the Sacramento Kings 123-100 on Wednesday’s game in Dallas. The Mavericks improved their record to 23-29.

Vince Carter had a stellar performance coming off of the bench. He passed Celtics great Larry Bird on the all time scoring list, primarily due to his third quarter performance in which he scored five three pointers. Carter finished with a game high 26 points to lead the Mavericks to victory.

“There were open shots and I was shooting them to make them. I wasn’t shooting to get attention,” said Carter. “I’ve talked to Larry before. He is a legend and one of the greatest to play the game.”

The Mavericks are now 12-0 when leading after the first quarter and Wednesday’s game was no exception. Dallas never looked back after exploding in the first quarter to take a 30-27 lead against Sacramento. THe Mavericks cranked up the intensity in the third quarter creating a 15 point cushion going into the final quarter of the game.

Darren Collison came one assist short of a double-double scoring 18 points with 9 assist. Dirk Nowitzki had 17 points and 8 assists in the win.

Dallas will have a week to get ready for their next opponent, the Orlando Magic.Tip-off is on Wedesday at 7:30 in Dallas.
