The Dallas Mavericks fell to the Utah Jazz 113-94 on Halloween night in Salt Lake City.  After leading at halftime 63-55, the Mavericks fell apart in the 3rd period.  Utah outscored Dallas 37-13 in the frame.

The Mavs committed 6 turnovers in the 3rd period while shooting just 5 for 22.  “When you get beat by 24 in a quarter that is a convincing beating. We just didn’t match their aggression in the third and that was the difference in the game,” said Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle.

Darren Collision led the Mavericks in scoring with 17 points.  Brandan Wright added 15.  O.J. Mayo and Vince Carter each scored 12 for Dallas.

Shawn Marion grabbed 11 rebounds for Dallas.

Marvin and Mo Williams each scored 21 for Utah.

The Mavericks split the 2-game opening road trip and will return home to host the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday at the American Airlines Center.
