Mavs Lose Third Straight

The Dallas Mavericks lost in overtime to the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-106 for their third consecutive defeat on Saturday night.  The Mavericks closed a 10-point deficit in the 4th quarter to send the game into overtime, but gave up the first 10 points in the extra period en route to the loss.

O.J. Mayo returned to form for Dallas, scoring 20 points.  Derek Fisher also scored 20 for the Mavs, 9 in the 4th quarter.

Elton Brand came off the bench to score 15 for Dallas.  Shawn Marion added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Mavericks come home to host Philadelphia on Tuesday at the American Airlines Center.  They will continue to be without Dirk Nowitzki, who has not played yet this season following knee surgery.  Nowitzki told a Dallas reporter that he was “not close” to playing.
