Mavs Make Offer To Parsons

The Dallas Mavericks reached agreement on a three-year, $45 million-plus offer sheet with restricted free agent Chandler Parsons, according to multiple reports Wednesday night.

Parsons plans to sign the offer sheet, which includes a player option after the second season, on Thursday, ESPN reported. The Houston Rockets then have three days to match the offer or watch Parsons bolt to Dallas.

The Rockets declined the team option on Parsons’ contract after the season, allowing him to become a restricted free agent this summer rather than an unrestricted free agent the following summer. Houston is reported to be trying to land free agent forward Chris Bosh from the Miami Heat.

The 25-year-old Parsons played in 74 games for the Rockets last season and averaged 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

The Mavericks hope to use him on a front line with Dirk Nowitzki and recently acquired Tyson Chandler.
