Mavs sweep Lakers

The Dallas Mavericks routed the Los Angeles Lakers 122-86 to complete the 2nd round sweep in the NBA Playoffs.  Along the way, Dallas tied an NBA playoff record with 20 3-pointers, including 9 by Jason Terry, also tying an NBA postseason record.

Terry came off the bench to lead all scorers with 32.  J.J. Barea and Peja Stojakovic, also off the bench, were next highest with 22 and 21 points respectively.  The Dallas bench scored 86 points, the same as the entire Lakers team.  For the series, the Dallas reserves outscored the Lakers bench 198-89.

Dirk Nowitzki was the only Dallas starter in double digits with 17 points.

Lakers head coach Phil Jackson ends his career with 11 NBA titles, but this was the first time his team has ever been swept in a post-season series.  Jackson leaves with a career playoff record of 229-104 (.688), the most wins and highest winning percentage in NBA history.

Dallas advances to the Western Conference Finals for the fourth time in franchise history, the first since losing to Miami in the 2006 NBA Finals.
