Mavs take game 1 from Spurs

The Dallas Mavericks opened the NBA playoffs with a 100-94 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.  Dirk Nowitzki led all scorers with 36.  Caron Butler, playing his first playoff game as a Maverick, scored 22 points.  Jason Kidd scored 13 and had 11 assists.

Dallas is now 7-0 when Nowitzki and Butler each score 20 or more points.
