The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Denver Nuggets 112-95 Monday night in Denver. The win gives the Mavs a 1 1/2 game lead over the Nuggets in the playoff race.
Dirk Nowitzki led all scorers with 33 points. He also led the game in rebounds, grabbing 11 off the board.
Brandan Wright came off the bench to add 15 points for Dallas. Vince Carter and Rodrigue Beaubois each added 14. Ian Mahinmi scored 11 and Jason Terry scored 10.
Jason Kidd dished out a game-high 10 assists for the Mavs.
Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle was please with the game, “It was one of the smartest played games I’ve seen in the league all year long. Very disciplined, aggressive, but not frantic and moved the ball the way we had to.”
The Mavericks return home to face the Lakers Friday night at the American Airlines Center.
