Patrick Reed wins LIV Golf Dallas
|The 2025 LIV Golf Dallas delivered high drama and elite performances at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, as Houston resident Patrick Reed captured his first LIV Golf title—and his first professional win in his home state—after winning a four-man sudden death playoff. The event also showcased the strength of the Crushers GC, led by Bryson DeChambeau, who secured their third consecutive team victory, cementing their status as the league’s most in-form squad
Reed’s Texas Triumph
Reed, known as “Captain America,” etched his name into the LIV Golf history books by outlasting Paul Casey, Jinichiro Kozuma, and Louis Oosthuizen in a playoff, clinching the win with a birdie on the first extra hole.
“I don’t like hearing those numbers, that it took me 41 times just to win out here,” Reed said. “It took too long, I felt like, but to check two things off and win for the first time on LIV and also doing it in my home state means a lot.”
Reed entered the final round with a three-shot lead that immediately grew to five shots, but fell back to the pack with five bogeys during a seven-hole stretch on his front nine. By the time he had reached the turn, he had lost the lead to Legion XIII’s Tyrrell Hatton.
He steadied himself on the back nine, however, with nine consecutive pars to shoot a 3-over 75 to finish at 6 under to get into the playoff.
With his first LIV Golf individual title, Patrick Reed becomes the 23rd different player to win an individual trophy on LIV Golf. All four playoff participants were seeking their first LIV Golf wins.
Crushers DC: The Team to Beat
The Crushers GC, featuring DeChambeau, Casey, Charles Howell III, and Anirban Lahiri, dominated the team competition, finishing with all four members inside the top 11 individually. Their win at Maridoe marks a third straight team title, putting them one shy of the all-time LIV Golf record. DeChambeau continued his hot streak with a T9 finish—his sixth consecutive top-10—while Casey’s runner-up individual performance was crucial for the team.
Casey & Hatton Shine
English veteran Casey came agonizingly close to his first individual LIV title, falling just short in the playoff but helping propel Crushers GC to victory. Casey’s rounds of 71-67-72 marked his best finish of the season.
Hatton rebounded from a slow start with a scintillating 7-under 65 in the second round—the lowest round of the week—and ultimately finished tied for fifth. A costly double bogey on the 12th hole in the final round dashed his hopes of joining the playoff, but Hatton’s performance was a highlight for his team, which finished third overall
Maridoe: A Stern Test
Maridoe Golf Club proved a formidable challenge, with swirling winds and demanding greens testing the world’s best. The venue’s reputation for penal rough and strategic hazards was on full display, particularly during the tense final round.

This is what I thought was possible,” said the two-time U.S. Open champion DeChambeau, who shot a final-round 68 to finish tied for ninth at 4 under on the individual leaderboard. “Our team showed up. I’ve just got to say I’m super thankful to Dallas and super thankful for the team for playing as well as they did.”
