Quarterfinals Are Set At The Texas Tennis Open

Three of the four qualifiers at the Texas Tennis Open have survived to the quarterfinal round.  Kateryna Bondarenko knocked off the No. 2 seed, Dominika Cibulkova 6-3, 6-1 on Wednesday.  Angelique Kerber ousted Melanie Oudin and Aravane Rezai defeated Sorana Cirstea.

In the only match of the day without a qualifier, Anastasija Sevastova defeated Sofia Arvidsson.

Bondarenko will face No. 5 Sabine Lisicki in the quarterfinal round in what promises to be one of the best matches of the week.  Bondarenko has look very strong in her matches, but Lisicki has only lost 6 games this week.  Quarterfinal action gets underway tonight at 5:30pm.

In doubles, the team of Alize Cornet and Pauline Parmentier ousted the top-seeded team of Johanna Larsson and Jasmin Woehr to advance to the semifinal round. Likewise, Alberta Brianti and Sorana Cirstea upset the 2nd seed team of Andreja Klepac and Tatiana Poutchek.  Third-seeds Sofia Arvidsson and Casey Dellacqua advanced by defeating Liga Dekmeijere and Megan Moulton-Levy.  Moulton-Levy was the last remaining American in the event.
