Top seeded Andy Roddick was upset by No. 8 Sam Querrey in the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships at the Racquet Club of Memphis.
Querrey will advance to the semi-finals for the 2nd week in a row (he lost to Roddick in San Jose). This is only his second win over Roddick in six tries. He will meet Ernests Gulbis who defeated No. 5 seed Tomas Berdych.
In the battle of big men, 6’9 John Isner defeated 6’10 Ivo Karlovic. It is Isner’s 11th win of the season with only 1 loss. His semi-final opponent will be Philipp Petzschner who won over Lukas Lacko.
In the semi-finals of the Cellular South Cup, top seeded Maria Sharapova advanced with a victory over No. 5 Petra Kvitova. Joining Sharapova in the final will be qualifier Sophia Arvidsson who defeated Anne Keothavong in three sets.
