TULSA, Okla. (SMU) – SMU fought a hard match at No. 15 Tulsa on Sunday, but ultimately fell to the Golden Hurricane, 6-1. Nate Lammons improved to 3-0 on the season at the No. 6 position, defeating Lucas Vaz 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

The match was very competitive, with three singles matches going to three sets. Unfortunately for the Mustangs, Tulsa won all three of those matches.

Arturs Kazijevs, coming off winning the Conference USA Tennis Athlete of the Week award this week, won his first set against 84th-ranked Clifford Marsland, but lost the match 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 6-2.

The Mustangs will return home to host Radford on Tuesday at the Samuell Grand Tennis Center at noon. Admission is free.
