Justin Northwest Texans and Southlake Carroll Dragons were tied (3-0) in district play going into Friday night’s game. Many considered the Texans to be one of the best teams Carroll has faced since their loss in the season opener to Allen. The fans at Dragon Stadium in Southlake witnessed another one sided win by Carroll, however. Southlake’s defense and powerful offense was too much for Justin Northwest. The final score was 45-0 in favor of Southlake.

Quarterback Kenny Hill and the Dragon offense had 498 total yards in the game. Carroll scored six touchdowns in the first half, five of which were the result of Hill’s performance. The Justin Northwest offense could not get on track during the first half, only crossing into Carroll territory once. Going into halftime the score was 42-0 in favor of Carroll.

The Texans were unable to put together a long drive or execute a big play throughout the game. The Carroll defense held the Texans scoreless and only allowed them to enter Southlake territory three times. The Texans had 109-yards rushing and 70-yards passing. Their leading rusher was Dakota Chavis with Chase Morrison as their leading receiver.

Southlake had 314-yards through the air, with Ryan Weigel and Luke Timian as the leading receivers. Southlake used their backup players on offense for most of the second half.
