Southlake Carroll Rolls Richland 63-7

The capacity crowd at Dragon Stadium witnessed another blow-out by Southlake Carroll, beating Richland 63 to 7. The Dragon offense had 641 yards of total offense including 394 yards through the air. Carroll quarterback Kenny Hill scored four touchdowns in the first quarter. Hill was their leading rusher with 127 yards, and Mike Gardiner was the leading receiver with 4 catches for 127 yards.

The Richland Rebels got off to a great start with a 57 yard completion from QB Brandon Maine to wide receiver Jordon Whitffield on their first play of the game. Four plays later, Maine scored on a 1-yard run giving Richland a 7 point lead with 9:50 remaining in the first quarter. Unfortunately, this would be Richland’s only score for the night.

At halftime Southlake was leading by a score of 49 to 7. The Richland defense could not stop the wide open and fast paced offense of Carroll. The Southlake back-up players had the opportunity to gain some valuable experience in the second half. Sophomore quarterback Ryan Agnew of Carroll completed 9 of 10 passes for 117 yards and one touchdown in the second half.

Richland had 233 yards of total offense. There leading rusher was running back Cameron Worthy who rushed for 48 yards. Despite their inability to stop the Southlake offense, Richland players fought hard throughout the game.

Southlake is now 3-0 in district play while Richland falls to 0-3.
