SMU (1-2) would answer and eventually retake the lead late in the first half before senior guard Donielle Breaux converted a 3-point play with 8.1 seconds remaining as the Frogs took a 33-30 advantage into the break.

TCU quickly extended its lead to 10 points to open the second half when Prince and freshman guard AJ Alix knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers from Medley.

Medley kept the TCU advantage at 10 at the 16:15 mark when she notched her 1,000th point on a jumper in traffic, and would push the Frogs back out to a nine-point lead less than five minutes later on a step-back bucket from beyond the arc.

Breaux would keep a safe distance for TCU when she broke the SMU press and found Prince cutting to the basket for a 3-point play to put TCU back to a 10-point lead at the 4:27 mark.
