INDIAN WELLS, Calif. — Three of the four players who were part of the Texas Wild’s inaugural Mylan World TeamTennis season will return to Irving this summer after the team protected Aisam Qureshi, Alex Bogomolov Jr. and Darija Jurak in Tuesday’s Mylan World TeamTennis Roster Draft. The Wild completed their roster by selecting former top 20 singles standout and two-time Grand Slam doubles champion Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain.

“I am thrilled with the team we drafted this year,” said Texas Wild owner Jeff Launius. “Alex and Aisam were really the emotional leaders of this team last season and getting them back is huge for us. Anabel is a great all-around player, and Darija and Anabel will be one of the toughest doubles teams in the league. We came close to making it to the finals last year and this could be the team that takes us to the next level.”

The Wild advanced to the 2013 Western Conference Championship match after

posting a 9-5 record during the regular season. One of the team’s 2013 season highlights included ending the Washington Kastles’ major pro sports record of 34 straight wins.

Qureshi is ranked No. 14 in the ATP Doubles Rankings. Reunited as part of the ‘Indo-Pak Express’ with India’s Rohan Bopanna, the two recently captured the ATP World Tour 500 title in Dubai and advanced to the final at the ATP World Tour 250 event in Sydney. Qureshi, who reached the 2010 US Open final with Bopanna, is playing his third straight season of Mylan WTT.

Bogomolov returns for his fourth Mylan WTT season. The Russian is ranked 92nd in singles and defeated Sam Querrey en route to reaching the quarterfinals in Memphis. Nicknamed Bogie, the 30-year-old finished third among the league leaders in men’s singles for the Wild last year.

Jurak rounds out the Wild’s returnees. A native of Zagreb, Croatia, Jurak has appeared in three WTA doubles finals and been ranked as high as No. 32 in doubles.

Garrigues has won 11 singles titles and 22 doubles titles. The Spaniard is currently ranked No. 95 in singles and No. 35 in doubles on the WTA Tour. She won back-to-back French Open doubles championships in 2008 and 2009. Garrigues also captured the silver medal in doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
