Texas Wild Close Home Schedule With Win

The Texas Wild will head into the playoffs tonight after finishing the regular season at home with a 22-18 win over the Sacramento Capitals.

The Wild got off to a slow start against the Capitals, losing both men’s and women’s doubles to Sacramento.  Alex Bogomolov Jr gave life to the Wild and the raucus home crowd with a dominating 5-2 win over the top-ranked American player, Sam Querrey.

Feeling the momentum, Eugenie Bouchard edged out a set over rising American star Taylor Townsend to give the Wild a 1 point lead heading into the final set of mixed doubles.   Bouchard and partner Aisam Qureshi sealed the Texas win with a 5-2 victory over Mark Knowles and Townsend.

The Wild will face the Springfield Lasers for the Mylan WTT Western Conference Championship presented by GEICO on Thursday, July 25, at 7:05pm CENTRAL at Mediacom Stadium at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
